Congress has allocated funding forwartime Veterans and their surviving spouses called the VeteransAdministration’s Aid and Attendance Improved Pension Plan.  Also known as “VA Aid and Attendance”, thisprogram is available to wartime veterans and surviving spouses who have“In-Home Care” or who live in “Assisted Living Communities”.  The City of Elk Grove has over 800 qualifiedbeds located in Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly.

Assisted Living for Veterans and Surviving Spouses

A Veteran who served at least 90 days of active duty, with one day at war time, is eligible to apply for Aid & Attendance pension.  This is a non-service connected 'pension' and is not dependent upon service related injuries for qualification.  Aid and Attendance pension is intended to be used as a funding source to offset the cost of living at an 'Assisted Living Care Home' (RCFE), Nursing Home, or for In-Home care.  Give us a call (916-284-4129) to see if you qualify and to locate a provider.
